What Is Cannabidiol or CBD?
CBD or Cannabidiol is a molecule commonly found in hemp extract, which has been studied extensively over the last two decades. CBD vape pens, cartridges, oils and other cannabidiol based products have recently been gaining widespread popularity for their potential medical benefits.
CBD works with the human endocannabinoid system to produce many of the health-related benefits patients are seeking – but without any psychoactive effects or other unwanted side effects.
Studies published by the US Department of Health & Human Services show that cannabinoid receptors are “found at central and peripheral levels of the pain pathways” and that these receptors or “endocannabinoids serve as synaptic circuit breakers and regulate multiple physiological and pathological conditions including food intake regulation, immunomodulation, inflammation, analgesia (pain), cancer, addictive behavior, epilepsy and others.”
The report concludes that “Endocannabinoids modulate pain under physiological conditions.” and “phytocannabinoids have efficacy in the treatment of various chronic pain conditions with greatest promise as a therapeutic adjunct in treating peripheral and central neuropathic pain and inflammation-mediated chronic pain.”
Hemp plants are naturally high in CBD and low in THC – the psychoactive component in medical cannabis. In fact, studies have shown that CBD can actually counteract the psychoactivity of THC.
Hemp produced for industrial use is a valuable and reliable source of hemp-derived CBD oil, CBD capsules, CBD tinctures, CBD salve or balms, CBD vape cartridges and related cannabidiol based products that are sold legally in retail and holistic medical facilities across all 50 US states and online.

“Putting these pharmacologic, clinical, and societal issues together, the direction for the future resides in the development of orally administered, highly bioavailable, non-psychoactive phytocannabinoid products that also take advantage of the entourage effect, to provide the millions of people living with debilitating pain a comparatively safe and effective form of relief.”U.S. National Institutes of Health's National Library of MedicineThe "Entourage Effect"
